operation thermos

Every year, members of the Olivaint Conference take part in Operation Thermos.

Every evening during the winter months, from 1 November to 30 April, the non-profit organisation Operation Thermos distributes 200 balanced and complete meals at the Botanique metro station in Brussels: soup, a hot main course, water, a dessert and a hot drink.

More than 20 volunteers take turns every evening to welcome the 200 beneficiaries and to buy, prepare, cook and distribute the hot meals.

This year, we were able to take part in this wonderful project on two evenings in a row. During these evenings, it’s not just about handing out food, but also about spending time talking with the other volunteers and the recipients. All participants find it very rewarding and enjoy the interesting conversations.
